2009 Annual Burn Pile at the Cabin

It's that time of the year to burn dead fall and other trees cut for fire prevention purposes. This year the Division of Natural Resources cleared trees another 100 feet behind our cabin to help perserve our cabin in case of a forest fire. They brought a chipper up for the small stuff and put the large logs and trees into our burn pile. We had to clear some trees to put a wider drive thru behind out cabin and Neil's brothers did a lot of clearing behind and around their cabins. So it was our biggest burn pile yet. We got the burn permit and started the fire at 4:00 P.M. and it didn't burn out until 2:00 A.M. So Neil and his brother, Mont, didn't leave the fire for 10 hours! Several fishermen and hunters stopped to get warmed by the fire. You can't even believe how much heat it put out. I was in a sweat shirt and the temperature outside was probably in the low 30's or high 20's and I didn't even get cold.
