More Family Fun Times!

We have had a fun, busy couple of weeks! We sleep at all three of our homes last week. We had to go check on our lawns in St. George, made a quick trip to Las Vegas to see Brian who has been trying to pass another kidney stone, and Kelli who has had a terrible bought with migraines. Then went up to check on the cabin. Here is a photo review:

Another fun weekend!

Congratulations to Jake!

He took first place steer wrestling at the Lehi High School rodeo and the Herriman one!
Last weekend we were in Coral Canyon with friends. We had a great time in the wonderful weather.
Here are some of the things we did:
The Rugg's are our "Hand and Foot" friends, so we got some good playing time in. The girls won 50% of the time. We find the boys are easier to get along with if we let them win some of the time.

We love to go four-wheeling, and the desert was in bloom, it was beautiful!

Saturday we took a ride up towards Enterprise and visited the Mountail Meadows Massacre sites. It was a little depressing for me, it would be nice to really know why things happened the way they did.

We ate our lunch in a small "Heritage Park" in Enterprise. Neil loved looking at the old farming equipment like the ones he and his brothers helped their father use to keep the family farm going.

Wendy's Weekend!

We had another great weekend with family and friends!
Friday we went to Stacie and Devin's graduation at BYU. Stacie is DeeDee's daughter. Devin will now be off to Dental School.

Stacie and Devin Orvin
We got to see our first great granddaughter, Kennedy, again at the graduation. What a doll!

After the graduation, I was off to Ashlynne's dance competition. She and her partner took first place in their category.

Saturday morning we went to Brittany and Nick's home in Salt Lake to meet for the first time our second great granddaughter, Avery. She is such a beautiful baby!

It was a thrill to hold her for the first time.

Brittany and Nick have done an outstanding job decorating and furnishing two nurseries for her, in Salt Lake and Logan. This is her Salt Lake one.

After a great visit at Britt and Nick's we were off to a wedding reception, and what a wonderful surprize that was! The bride is the daughter of Steve Christiansen. He was the Stake President whom requested senior missionaries in the Appleton Stake in Wisconsin. Little did he know that he would be sent his father's second half cousin and his wife, Neil and Wendy Christiansen. We were so happy that people we love from Neenah, Wisconsin were there at the reception.

I had a great time visiting with members of the Neenah, Wisconsin Ward: Pam Price, Lillian Chai Tolman, and Mae Chai.

Neil had a good visit with his second cousin, Richard (Dick) Christiansen.

Bride, Kaylynn Christiansen Witt with her mother, Suzanne Christiansen.

I had another treat Saturday afternoon to meet with my siblings, Sue, Ellen, Marged, Allyson and her family and Kay (Owen was at Scout camp) to visit with my father's sister, Ellie whom is recovering from a broken pelvis. Aunt Ellie is such an upbeat cheerful lady, now in her 90's.

Sisters: Ellen, Marged, Wendy and Sue.
Back row: Kay Ashton, Ellen Ashton VanOrman Front row: Susan Ashton, Allyson Ashton Chard, Heather Chard, Marged Ashton Kirkpatrick, Danielle Chard, Alyssa Chard, Eleanor
Ashton Badger, Wendy Ashton Christiansen. Photographer, Dan Chard.

Things I missed out on this weekend, darn! Jake taking first at the Logan Rodeo. Skyler winning his laCrosse games (he was on channel 5 news Saturday, at his game honoring Blake Stebel) Josh winning his laCrosse game, Ashlynne winning her soccer game. Chandler's volleyball games and who knows what else! So many things to do, so little time!

Now all this is the good part of my weekend, the bad is just beginning as I start taking my prep for a colonoscopy tomorrow, yuck!!!

The End!!!

P.S.
Sooooo, the colonoscopy was no big deal, the doctor said I have the colon of a 20 year old - WHY can't the rest of my body be like a 20 year old?!!!!!

A Winter Paradise!

Neil and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Puerto Penasco, Mexico staying at beautiful Las Palomas Resort in a condo owned by our good friends from Wisconsin's daughter. If you want a great place to go just ask me and I will connect you with her. It is in the Sea of Cortez.
Besides the beautiful white sandy beach we had multiple hot tubs with different degrees of heat, swimming pool and lazy river.

Each evening we would eat dinner on the deck and watch the beautiful sunsets.

In the morning the beach would be raked in front of the condos, things were always so clean and neat.

Buying from the beach venders was interesting. Neil actually asked me to buy something from the young mother in the photo, he either felt sorry for her or liked her beauty!

If you look just out from Rocky Point in the first photo, you can see a shrimp boat. We loved buying fresh shrimp, cooking it up and eating it!

In front of the LDS church we attended on Sunday.
